The Poison Philosophy
Predator was founded on the idea that pool cues should be engineered, not just crafted. Poison exists to bring that same engineering-first approach to a price point where it's never lived before. Every Poison cue is built around one core decision: don't cut the technology that actually affects your game, cut everything else instead. That's why every line — VX Break, VX Jump/Break, Maelith, Candy — runs the same Venom Carbon Fiber shaft rather than a cheaper wood alternative. The technology isn't the compromise. The compromise is everywhere else
Venom Carbon Fiber Shaft
Poison runs on Venom. No dilution. Every Poison cue — VX Break, VX Jump/Break, Maelith, Candy — ships with the same shaft technology, full strength, at every price point in the lineup.
What it does: Venom is a carbon fiber composite shaft engineered on the same low-deflection principles behind Predator's REVO shaft.
Why it matters: A beginner or league player fighting an unpredictable wood shaft is fighting their equipment as much as their opponent.
Worth Knowing: Venom isn't a stripped-down REVO. It's a different point on the same technology curve, engineered specifically to hit a $379–$449 price target rather than chase the last percentage point of tour-level precision.
Weight System and Joint
Poison cues don't use Predator's Uni-Loc Weight Cartridge System — they use the Radial® joint .
To access the weight bolt, unscrew the bumper then swap it for a lighter or heavier one (available from 0.25 oz up to 3.5 oz) using an Allen wrench. Since the bolts have no head, they can be stacked to land on a precise custom weight rather than jumping between fixed increments.
Dry weight on a Poison cue runs about 18 oz — 14 oz in the butt, 4 oz in the Venom shaft — with customization up to 20 oz available at checkout. Current weight bolts are compatible with Poison cues made after 2015; for anything older, check your cue's release year before ordering replacement bolts.
How It All Works Together
Venom Carbon Fiber and a balanced butt construction aren't separate selling points — they're one system built around a single goal: real performance at a price beginners and league players can justify. The shaft delivers the straighter hit and the construction makes sure it holds up to actual use, not just a showroom shelf.
