BK Rush Shaft vs. REVO 12.9: What's Actually Different

The BK Rush shaft and a standard REVO 12.9 share the same carbon fiber composite foundation — but they're not identical. Here's what's actually different at the front end, and why it matters if you're deciding between them.

What's Different

You can break with a standard REVO 12.9 — it's strong enough for the job. But the BK Rush shaft's front end is purpose-built for breaking: it's optimized with added stiffness to generate a higher Coefficient of Restitution (COR), which translates directly to faster cue ball speed off the break. A standard REVO 12.9 is tuned as a playing shaft first; the BK Rush trades some of that general-purpose balance for maximum break power.

The tip is the other real difference. The BK Rush uses a hybrid tip designed to hit with the same power as a phenolic break tip, while offering better chalk adhesion and cue ball control than phenolic typically allows.

Which One Do You Need?

If breaking is the shaft's only job, the BK Rush's stiffer front end and hybrid tip are built specifically for that — it's the shaft to reach for. If you're using one shaft for both breaking and regular play, a standard REVO 12.9 handles both reasonably well, just without the BK Rush's break-specific edge.
