Custom REVO Shafts & Shaft Options

If a stock REVO shaft doesn't quite match your setup, our Custom Shop can build one to spec. Here's what you can customize, what it costs, and — if you're deciding between a standard playing shaft and a dedicated break shaft — how the BK Rush stacks up against a REVO 12.9.

BK Rush vs. REVO 12.9: What's the Difference?

The REVO BK Rush shaft is purpose-built for breaking. Its front end is optimized with extra stiffness to generate a higher coefficient of restitution (COR), giving the cue ball more speed off the break than a standard REVO 12.9.

You can break with a standard REVO 12.9 — it holds up fine. But BK Rush is engineered specifically for maximum break speed, and its hybrid tip is designed to hit with the same power as a phenolic break tip while still giving you better chalk adhesion and cue ball control than a typical break tip allows.

In short:

  • Choose REVO 12.9 if you want one shaft for both playing and occasional breaking.
  • Choose BK Rush if breaking hard and consistently is a priority and you'd rather keep a dedicated shaft for it.

Can I change the color of the Vault Plate on my Revo Shaft?

The Vault Plate is a "T" shaped part shown in gold color on the illustration below. It is the equivalent of a ferrule on a wood shaft, except it is designed for a carbon fiber shaft. It's purpose is to attach to the carbon tube on one side, and to the cue tip on the other. Unlike a ferrule, the Vault Plate goes into the carbon tube and it cannot be removed without touching the carbon tube.

We do not recommend replacing the Vault Place for aesthetics reasons because the replacement implies cutting the previous Vault Plate, and that would reduce the carbon tube's thickness which would in turn weaken the carbon tube and compromize its strength. There is also a risk of breakage of the carbon tube while machining.

Our repair shop currently does not have the white Vault Plate part available, so we are unable to change them at this time.

We now offer most REVO shafts with both choices of a white or black Vault Plate. You can find them here and filter by Vault Plate color to narrow the selection down:
