Pool Cue Bumper Extensions and Installation

Before installing a bumper or extension, confirm your cue uses the Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System. Poison cues are not compatible and installing Predator extension hardware on one can void your Poison warranty.

Will a QR2 Extension Fit My Cue?

Quick Release Banner

The QR Extension 2 is compatible with all Predator cues made since 2012 that is equipped with the Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System, including:

  • Sneaky Pete SP4, SP6 and SP8 Series
  • 8K and 9K Series Cues
  • BK3 and BK-Rush Break Cues
  • Blak 2nd, 3rd and 4th Generation Series Cues
  • Ikon 2nd, 3rd and 4th Generation Series Cues
  • Throne 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation Series Cues
  • P3 Series Cues
  • Sport II Series Cues
  • Limited and Special Editions (2012 and newer)
  • Predator CRM and Molinari by Predator Carom Cues

Predator pool cues made before 2008 usually are not compatible with the QR2 extension bumper because they have a push-in bumper.

It is available in three lengths – 3, 8, and 12 inches.

POISON CUES

The Predator QR2 Extension is not compatible with Poison cues (Maelith, Candy, or VX). Poison cues use a fixed Radial® joint with no weight-bolt access, so the QR2 extension and weight adjustment are both unavailable on Poison.

Can I Buy Replacement Bumpers for My Predator Cue?

Yes — replacement bumpers are available for most Predator cue lines, matched to your specific model. Find your cue below:

NOTE

Note: Push-in bumpers for Predator cues made before 2008 are no longer available. If you're not sure which bumper style your cue uses, check the serial number article or contact Customer Service before ordering.

To detach the extension bumper from the extension, simply grip the black threads and unscrew the bumper to detach it from the extension. Once the bumper comes off, you will see the stainless steel bullet pin from the extension as shown below:

Cue Bumper Extension Questions

Yes. We carry replacement bumpers for every Predator cue made since 2012, including BK2, BK3, BK Rush, Air2, P2, P3, Sport 2 Ice, both generations of Ikon cues, and the QR2 Extension. Push-in bumpers for cues made before 2008 are no longer available.

Each bumper is model-specific — a BK Rush bumper won't fit a P3 cue, for example. Use the "Shop by pool cue" selector above to match your bumper to your exact cue line and generation.

It ships pre-installed, screwed directly onto the end of the extension.

Grip the black threaded section and unscrew it counterclockwise. Once it's off, you'll see the stainless steel bullet pin underneath — that's normal and is what the new bumper threads onto.

No. It's a hand-tightened, threaded connection — no tools required. Watch the video walkthrough above for the full process.

Unfortunately, push-in bumpers for pre-2008 Predator cues are no longer manufactured or available for purchase.

Standard cue bumpers are $5.00. The QR2 Extension bumper is $30.00.

Look for cracking, flattening, or a loose fit at the base of the cue or extension. A worn bumper can also make the cue rock slightly when you set it down, or feel less stable during your stroke — that's your cue to swap it out.

On QR2 Extensions, make sure the bumper is threaded all the way down until it seats flush against the bullet pin — a bumper that's only partially screwed on will feel loose even though it's technically attached. For standard push-on bumpers, double-check you've selected the correct model; a bumper sized for a different cue line can sit loose even when it looks like it fits.

No — bumpers are sized and threaded specifically for each cue generation, so a mismatched bumper may not seat properly and could damage the threading. If your cue model isn't listed above, reach out to our support team, and they can help identify the right part.

That's the stainless steel bullet pin the bumper threads onto — it's a normal part of the extension, not a broken piece.
