What Size Pool Cue Do I Need for My Height?

Cue length matters less than most players expect. Stance, bridge length, and how far you naturally reach over the table affect fit more than height alone — which is why the overwhelming majority of adult players, regardless of height, play well with a standard 58" cue. The exception is players on the taller end, who sometimes want extra reach for comfort and stability. Here's how to tell which camp you're in.

Standard 58" — The Right Length for Most Players

A 58" cue is the industry standard and what the large majority of Predator's lineup ships as. If you're unsure, start here — length is one of the easiest things to get "right enough," and most players never think about it again once they've got a cue with the correct weight, tip, and shaft feel.

Taller Players — 59", 60", or a QR2 Extension

If you're 6'6" or taller, or you've found yourself wishing you could reach a little further without adjusting your stance, Predator offers two ways to get there:

  • 59" and 60" Long Pool Cues — nine of Predator's most popular cue designs (P3, SP2, and more) are available with a 30" butt or 30" shaft option, giving you the extra length built into the cue itself.
  • QR2 Extension — screws onto the back of your existing cue for extra reach on demand, without committing to a longer cue permanently.

Pool Cue Height Questions

58 inches. It's the industry standard and what the majority of Predator cues ship as. Unless you have a specific reason to size up, a standard 58" cue is the right starting point.

Height plays a role, but stance and bridge length matter more. Most players — regardless of height — play comfortably with a standard 58" cue. Height becomes a more relevant factor at the taller end, generally above 6'6", where some players prefer the extra reach of a 59" or 60" cue.

If you're consistently reaching or stretching to comfortably reach the cue ball, especially on longer shots, a longer cue or a cue extension may help. This is more common among taller players, but it's ultimately about your natural stance and bridge, not height alone.
